Reality Town is a simulation designed to give students experience with budgeting finances. Students receive a fictional life with a job that's determined by their most current GPA. Each student will be able to choose their job from a list of careers found within their GPA range. The day of reality town students will use their monthly income to purchase expenses to support their families.
Students are able to see their reality town booklet prior to the day of Reality Town. An additional $100 is awarded to students that dress up as their career. So if your budget is tight consider dressing up! Checkbooks are given to students to use during the event to pay for all of their expenses and a check register is found within their booklet to keep track of deductions. This is always a fun event for students!
This year Reality Town is on hold for now as we practice the new Covid guidelines, but we hope to host this event in the Spring for our 8th graders! More information to come.
